Dr. Ing. Stefano Carani

Born in Lucca on June 27, 1961.
He graduated in Civil Engineering reporting the evaluation of 110/110 cum laude, at the Faculty of Engineering of Pisa in the A.Y. 1986/1987 developing a thesis on "Project of the great road system serving the city of Lucca and its plain with particular reference to the North-South axis" with supervisors Prof. Ing. Luciano Caroti and Prof. Ing. Mario Tempestini.
He obtained his qualification as an engineer in 1987 and enrolled in the Order of Engineers of the Province of Lucca and then moved to the Order of Engineers of the Province of Pisa where he is currently registered with No. 1352.
Gained teaching experience at secondary schools from 1988 to 1994, tenure at the Technical Institute for Surveyors of Pietrasanta from 1993 to 1998, the year in which he decided to definitively opt for the sole profession.
From 1998 to 2000 he participated in the Building Commission of the Municipality of Fauglia.
He is authorized to carry out the activities of Safety Coordinator pursuant to Legislative Decree 81/2008.
He is registered in the Ministry of the Interior's list of professionals specialized in fire prevention design at number PI01352I00402, pursuant to law 818/84 and D.M. August 5, 2011.
He attended the course for CasaClima designers.
He attended the course "Diagnosis and Safety of Masonry Buildings".
He obtained the II Level Master in "Building Information Modeling" organized by the University of Pisa in the academic year 2016-2017, with a specific module on the "Recovery of existing building heritage and cultural heritage".
He obtained the basic technical designer certification of the ARCA consortium of Trento for wooden constructions.
In his professional life he faces experiences in multiple fields of Engineering, also abroad, ranging from the sector closely linked to residential, commercial, artisanal construction and production activities, to sectors linked to the recovery and restoration of buildings subject to specific constraints, from planning of urban interventions to the planning of highly specialized building interventions such as accommodation facilities for people with disabilities and highly resonant structures for scientific research. In the 2000s, he took care of the conception, structural and detailed design of a new production line of prefabricated warehouses in Brazil for the construction of a large commercial park (on an area of 1 million square meters) in the city of Joinville (State of Santa Catarina - Brazil).
He also developed great experience in the construction management sector, both architectural and structural, highlighting considerable organizational skills.
He currently holds the position of President of the Cultural Heritage Commission as well as that of Member of the Board of Directors of the same Foundation.
